Katie  Gaffney

I have joined the race team because I believe in the values of Live Uncommon. As a wife, sister, daughter, friend, teacher, and coach I want to be able to promote a balanced healthy lifestyle. It is vital for me to go above and beyond to be a positive role model to others. By being on the race team I hope to show others that I am becoming the best version of myself and want them to the same. Live Uncommon is a perfect example of working hard, giving back, and balancing family and fitness. Also, I believe it is important for me to give back to my community. In 2009 I moved to Davenport after my husband and I got married. Throughout these three years I have been fortunate to meet many incredible people who are living the Uncommon Life. Running has been a part of my life since middle school cross country. I ran throughout high school and college and soon after college it became a lifestyle. Over the past year I have developed a strong running community and have become more serious about my training. This group of people (Crazies) helps me to become a better person not just in running, but throughout my whole life. By joining the race team I hope to give back to my community and truly be a person who displays the core values of Live Uncommon and help others to do the same.
