Hi! My name is Anne. I’m a mom to three amazing boys, and I’m an engineer (best get that out of the way now). I’ve been running consistently for almost five years, after the birth of my second son. Although I ran in high school, and some in college, I never considered myself a “real” runner until I ran my first and second half marathons in 2009 with Team in Training. Then, I was hooked. I’ve run through a pregnancy, ran a half marathon when my youngest was 6 months old, and have continued to feed the addiction while working, raising my three boys, and being the best wife I can be. Now, I’ve taken on the biggest challenge of my running career (and possibly my life) by signing up for my first full marathon in 2012.But that’s not why I joined the Live Uncommon team. Nope, not at all. In addition to running, there are a few things that I am passionate about: Education, youth, and giving back to the community. I’m one of those people that can’t resist a request to volunteer. I’m pretty sure my husband rolls his eyes behind my back whenever I start to talk about the newest opportunity I’ve found. So, when Live Uncommon announced the creation of the LU race team, I could.not.resist. With this group, I have found something that allows me to merge my love of running with my passion for giving back to the community. And, honestly, I am able to do this by running races I probably would have run anyway. It was a no-brainer. And now, I ask you to join me in the revolution. Run a race with us! If you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, donate. Every little bit helps.
