I have been running since high school, but it is only within the past few years that I have become serious about exercising for the benefit of my own health. I support Live Uncommon because of its core values.I am very close to my family, both immediate and extended. My grandfather still runs regularly and is an inspiration to me. From him, I have learned that it is better to run for longevity and health rather than time. Every Saturday, my family members get together and bike. To celebrate my mom's 50th birthday, my three sisters, my father, and my mom ran the Des Moines Marathon. I feel very fortunate to have the support of family when it comes to living a healthy life.I consider myself to be a hard worker, and I want to give my best to whatever I am doing. The LU race team provides a challenge for me to train with a purpose and for something more than just myself and my own running goals. Please help me raise money for the following worthy causes; your donation will be divided among them:CASI: Center for Active Seniors – Providing services that meet the needs of older adults and fosters respect, dignity and quality of life.PROJECT RENEWAL - Providing a positive presence for the children and families in our low income neighborhood of Davenport, Iowa.RACE FOR THE CURE - Susan G.
